Deferred Settlement Service (SRD)

This service, known in French as the service à règlement différé (SRD), enables investors to buy or sell shares on credit in return for a supplementary fee.
Under the SRD service, the buyer does not pay for the shares or take delivery of them until the end of the month, while the seller does not deliver the shares or receive payment until the last trading day of the month. Sanofi shares are eligible for the SRD service.

Developed Sales

When we refer to the “worldwide presence” of a product, we mean our consolidated net sales of that product, minus sales of the product to our alliance partners plus non-consolidated sales made through our alliances with Bristol-Myers Squibb on Plavix®/Iscover® (clopidogrel bisulfate) and Aprovel®/Avapro®/Karvea® (irbesartan), based on information provided to us by our alliance partner.

Dividend

Portion of a company’s net profit paid out to shareholders.

Document de Référence

The Document de référence or Annual Report - Registration document is a French-language document containing full legal, business and accounting information about a company for the previous financial year; it is filed with the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), and remains valid for 12 months. Sanofi filed its 2011 Document de référence on March 7, 2012. The Document de référence is broadly equivalent to the Annual Report on Form 20-F filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
