In France, of the 1,000 new cases of cancers diagnosed each day, 400 concern people involved in a professional activity. Advances made in the care of patients makes it increasingly possible to reconcile cancer and employment. But despite this progress, nearly one in three employees leave or lose their job within two years of diagnosis.

Patients, families and friends, colleagues and work teams are all affected and impacted.

In this context, Sanofi in France recently signed the charter of the National Cancer Institute (INCa): 11 commitments to improve support for employees affected by cancer and to promote health. The charter provides for the anticipation of needs and the training and informing of all stakeholders to increase the effectiveness of support for maintaining or enabling the return to employment of employees with cancer.

By participating in the drafting and signing of this charter, Sanofi in France is committed to working with all employees, to supporting people with cancer and to providing their colleagues the means to help.
