Sanofi committed through its foundation

March 08, 2017

We are women

For the second year in a row, Sanofi and the Sanofi ESPOIR Foundation are joining forces with 7 other major French companies to create “We are WOMEN”, a serie of short programs broadcasted on France Télévisions from March 5 to 15 2017, upon the International Women’s Day. This second collection takes us to France to meet eleven heroines of everyday life.

A woman’s story: Hélène Quéau

This year Sanofi, through its Sanofi Espoir Foundation, wanted to tell the story of Hélène Quéau, Director of Operations at Première Urgence Internationale, who works daily alongside families affected by humanitarian crises.

Hélène Quéau has spent much of her professional life in countries struck by conflict or natural disasters. In a world where men are usually the main actors, Hélène provides a feminine sense of care and mindfulness towards the women and children who are the primary victims of humanitarian crises.

A long-standing partnership

The Sanofi Espoir Foundation has partnered the Première Urgence Internationale association for many years, especially in Haiti after cyclone Matthew and at the Bardarash refugee camp in Iraq to organize access to healthcare. In Iraq, after the establishment of two mobile clinics in 2015, the Foundation supported the creation of an area exclusively dedicated to women and their children.

As a healthcare partner, the Sanofi Espoir Foundation is deeply committed and works collectively to provide access to healthcare for affected or displaced persons. In these extremely difficult and insecure situations, the outreach led by Hélène Quéau and her teams is a growing challenge, requiring civic commitment to the most vulnerable communities on a daily basis.
